As one of Europe's biggest streaming platforms, NOW Global Streaming Product ensures that customers are provided with a streamlined, flexible e-commerce journey, as well as a world-class, sustainable customer management experience.
My main goals were to optimise and enhance the current end-to-end web journey, as well as to create compelling new experiences. By combining an iterative design process, data-driven experiments and optimisations, and close collaboration with business, product, and engineering colleagues, we were able to translate challenging business objectives into effective design solutions.
BBC News
With BBC News audiences moving to mobile devices in ever-increasing numbers, adopting a mobile-first, multi-screen approach was essential to satisfy the rapidly changing consumption habits of a demanding and varied audience.
My objective as part of the UX team was to continue evolving BBC News, BBC Politics, and BBC Newsbeat’s web offering, cementing their place as the industry standard for online content. Alongside this, my objective was to ensure an optimal and accessible viewing experience for users across all devices, platforms, connections, and languages.
BBC Sounds
BBC Sounds is the digital home for the BBC’s radio, music, and podcasts, charged with satisfying the changing needs of audiences who access audio content.
Creation of a cross-platform product that combined an intuitive and scalable audio player, personalisation functionality, and a discovery experience offering relevant content was imperative for the Sounds team and I to achieve our core aims of increased time spent listening, improved user satisfaction, and an increase in the number of signed-in users.
BBC Programmes
BBC Programmes provides automated programme support across TV and radio, helping ensure that all content broadcast by the BBC has a permanent, findable, and, if needed, unique web presence.
My primary objective as Lead Designer was to increase the reach and audience appreciation of BBC Programmes websites. This was achieved by visually enhancing the current offering, optimising the user experience for all device types, and providing increased customisation options for iPlayer and iPlayer Radio’s high-profile brands.
Pan-BBC Experiences/GEL
Pan-BBC Experience’s primary objective is to develop a set of common systems, principles, and standards that help to unify the brand identity of the BBC’s array of digital products and services.
As UX designer for the Global Experience Language (GEL), my main role was to lead the redesign and expansion of the GEL website. I also delivered the desktop and mobile versions of the Global Toolbar and the BBC GEL icon set, as well as providing numerous design solutions for the BBC Design Patterns Library.
